Our D4 Global virtual event took place between 13th-16th October 2020. D4 Global was the world’s first truly global event focusing on data-driven discovery and development in pharma R&D.
At the event, we were fortunate enough to have a talk from Jane Wilkinson, Senior Director, Genomics Platform Project & Alliance Management, Broad Institute. Jane’s talk titled – ‘The Challenges of Large-Scale Genomics – From a Single Patient to a Population‘ – explored the importance of scale and how this is managed at the Broad Institute.
Specific talking points included:
- Review of the Broad Institute’s capabilities in managing high volumes of data generation and analysis
- Exploration of the global collaboration needed with researchers to drive them closer to the cure
- Consideration of the notion that every sample matters – a meticulous quality management system
