Shareable Science: Beyond the Blog COVID-19 Latest Updates

In an effort to continue keeping the public informed about COVID-19, the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology has launched a series of educational videos to help separate fact from myth about the virus.

The series, called Shareable Science Beyond the Blog, builds on Dr. Lamb’s Shareable Science blog, which addresses the latest life science headlines, providing a clear understanding of how these discoveries and advances will affect your everyday life and health.

Latest videos in the series include:

  • The changing advice on the use of face masks: recently, the CDC changed their advice on using face masks, recommending that people use re-usable fabric face masks to avoid transmission but that surgical masks and N95 respirators should be reserved for frontline clinical staff.
  • A reinfection Q&A: Currently, studies suggest some immunity for COVID-19 after infection, how long this lasts is still undetermined.
  • And what’s happening to create a COVID-19 vaccine and why this is likely to take a long time.
